“Spoonbills of Wellard” Mural
Unveiled to the community in August, this striking artwork brings new life to Wellard Square by celebrating our unique local environment. Painted by acclaimed Western Australian muralist Amok Island, the mural transforms a once-plain carpark wall into a vibrant expression of wildlife and community spirit.
The project was made possible through a close collaboration between Wellard Square and the City of Kwinana, with the vision of creating a landmark that both enriches the centre and fosters a sense of pride among residents.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Amok Island for his creative brilliance and to the City of Kwinana for their partnership in making this project a reality.
The “Spoonbills of Wellard” mural is more than just art — it is a symbol of connection, conservation, and the natural beauty of our community.
